Discover what children were told to pack and how they prepared for life as an evacuee. Explore their experiences during their evacuation and their return.

Session 1 Leaving home

Objectives

Teaching and Activities

Learn the reasons for evacuation; find out what evacuees had to pack; make an identity card and gas mask.

  • To make a gas mask using a plastic milk bottle and black paint.
