Lesson Planning - Hamilton's Flexible English Blocks

Integrated teaching of comprehension, grammar and writing that covers the statutory objectives of the National Curriculum for England lies at the heart of Hamilton English. Our approach is grounded in our belief that it is vital that we teach children to read and write with competence and confidence, while facilitating their desire to do so.

Devised by highly experienced English specialists, Hamilton's English resources offer grammar teaching within a context of stimulating texts that extend understanding and inspire children's own writing. Our flexible blocks enable you to focus your teaching on one or another of the aspects of English (comprehension, grammar or writing), without excluding the other aspects. Grammar teaching is presented through easy-to-use slide presentations for your interactive whiteboard.

Mixed Year English

Hamilton has always been attentive to the unique challenges of teaching mixed year classes. We provide weekly plans for all mixed year groups and we will, in due course, be creating flexible English blocks for mixed year English. Find out more about our plans for mixed years 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and mixed years R/1 and 2/3.
