Hamilton's new maths blocks preserve our rigorous pedagogy, progression and consistent development of models, but they also enable teachers to teach in long or short blocks as suits their class. Being subdivided into stand-alone units, these blocks can be used with any blocking scheme.

We know that many of you value Hamilton's spelling by phoneme and grapheme functionality. However, this software is now outdated and beyond updating. So, with regret, we are closing that page on 21 June.

Professor Ruth Merttens' Mastery, Pedagogy and Blocking seminar launched in January 2018 is still available. We have Summer Term dates to meet demand for this new training opportunity covering pedagogy for mastery, a blocked curriculum and their upsides and downsides.

Hamilton is producing flexible English blocks to give teachers complete control of the balance between the aspects of English teaching. Each text or set of texts will have separate units focussing on SPAG, Reading, Comprehension, Composition or Extended Writing. You choose your focus!

If you are a Year 6 teacher, we urge you to have a look at our new Harry Potter revision unit. We love it, and we think you will too! Use the whole scheme or just select the 5-minute grammar PowerPoints to practice for SPAG on SATs. Either way, you can inspire your children this term, at the same time as revising.

Do you ever need access to number squares? Number grids? Number lines? Landmarked lines? Fraction walls? If so, then have a look at the new Generic Maths Resources on Hamilton's Player site. You will find a mix of downloadable and interactive maths resources to support teaching specific concepts and skills in primary maths.

After many years of service, Hamilton's WebLearner will close at the end of April 2018. We built WebLearner at a time when there were few protected opportunities for children to build or contribute to websites. There now exist many excellent alternatives (Pobble amongst them), and we feel it is time to retire our old friend.
