This is a collection of simple letters, hand-written and typed up by a series of pets who all have something to apologise for! Children will love to read these simple and funny epistles, and it makes an excellent text for generating letter writing.

This re-telling of the children's classic gives a lovely, quiet and low key introduction to recounts and explanations.  The unusual illustrations enable children to encounter some of these difficult text types in a familiar and comforting context.  The book makes a nice introduction to new ways of writing.

The King of Birds
