Stories that raise issues
Read a selection of picture books featuring characters facing difficult situations. Look at verb tenses and use adverbials to improve descriptions. Draft, edit and present a descriptive piece inspired by the stories read.
Start with the core unit to introduce key texts. Then select from comprehension, SPAG and composition units.
