Books to Share
- Read/tell children the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, emphasising the repeating three choices, with the last one being perfect.
- Reread Goldilocks, then discuss what might have happened if Goldilocks did not run away. Do children think she would go in another house uninvited?
- Display & read Goldilocks (Group Reader). What do children think of this version? Reread it… Can children read along with you?
- Read Goldilocks and Just the One Bear, enjoying the humour or another alternative version. Share the bears’ thank you letter now that Goldilocks has made amends.
Poetry/Rhyme of the Week: When Goldilocks went to the House of the Bears (see resources)
Introduce on Monday (send a copy home). Rehearse and chant/sing (see website list) during week, waiting to go to lunch, to focus on carpet, for fun! Develop performance and add actions.
Group Reader: Goldilocks
