Books to Share

  1. Read/tell children the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, emphasising the repeating three choices, with the last one being perfect.
  2. Reread Goldilocks, then discuss what might have happened if Goldilocks did not run away. Do children think she would go in another house uninvited?
  3. Display & read Goldilocks (Group Reader). What do children think of this version? Reread it… Can children read along with you?
  4. Read Goldilocks and Just the One Bear, enjoying the humour or another alternative version. Share the bears’ thank you letter now that Goldilocks has made amends.

Poetry/Rhyme of the Week: When Goldilocks went to the House of the Bears (see resources)
Introduce on Monday (send a copy home). Rehearse and chant/sing (see website list) during week, waiting to go to lunch, to focus on carpet, for fun! Develop performance and add actions.
