Back to School…

New Year, New Beginnings

Welcome back to all our teachers and students, we’re so pleased to have you here with us at Hamilton and we wanted to highlight a few resources that we think you might find super-helpful at the beginning of term.

Start the term on the right foot – put student wellbeing front and centre.

We love the Wellbeing blocks available in autumn for maths and English. Start the term off by easing the children back into schoolwork with engaging texts, time to talk and share ideas and giving time to creative activities. All linked to the curriculum too!

Explore colours and feelings with The Colour Monster in Y1 English or encourage children to express ideas and creativity inspired by What Do You Do With An Idea? in Y5. Study snowflake patterns in the Y3 maths Wellbeing block or Celtic knot patterns and Hieroglyphics in Y6.

Get your maths lesson going with a bang!

Start the lesson off with one of our colourful presentations, designed to engage the children’s brains with buzzy, quick-fire questions.

You’ll find a bank of 12 weeks of starters available under key skills headings plus a set of fun ‘quick-fire tests’ too.

Search for your group and ‘maths starters’ in the search box on our site or download them from the maths unit you are using – you’ll find them on the resources card.

Find out more about the maths starters and how to get the most from them.
