Have you tried Hamilton’s Group Readers?

Group Readers are specially written modern stories to share in groups of three to six children. They are charmingly illustrated and facilitate reading and comprehension progression from Reception right through to Year 6. Available to download or buy, they enhance any scheme of English!

There are over 70 original titles, wriitten by Hamilton for Key Stage 1 and 2 children. Group Readers are matched to the stages of learning phonics and grammar and are a great addition to primary classrooms.

The wide range of books include fiction, non-fiction texts and poetry, some with familiar characters! Traditional tales and fables are also included. They are linked to Hamilton's English plans, but can be used with any English planning as an opportunity for children to read accessible, engaging and varied texts to help them develop their language skills. Some books even come with a free MP3 of the story being read aloud for younger children.

Extracts of all 70 Group Readers are available to preview on our sister site Hamilton Education, where hardcopies of the books are also available to purchase for sharing amongst small groups of children. Packs of six colour books are available cheaply, at cost price - colour books are £9.99, black and white books are £7.50.

Friends of Hamilton and school subscribers can download and print the books FREE directly from the Hamilton site. Simply log in, click English, your year group and then Group Readers to start using the books immediately.
