Objectives

History

  • Continue to develop a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of Britain, local and world history, establishing clear narratives within and across the periods they study.
  • Conduct a local history study of an aspect of history from a period beyond 1066 that is significant to the local area.
  • Understand how our knowledge of the past is constructed from a range of sources.

Maths

  • Statistics: interpret and construct pie charts and line graphs and use these to solve problems.

Lesson Planning

Children compare data from the previous session to data from the 1891 census and collate the results in a chart.

Children will:

  • Know how to interpret original census data.
  • Produce graphs and charts for analysis.
