Lesson Planning
Look at the proportions of a human adult as shown by Leonardo’s Vitruvian Man. Investigate the shape changes between a baby and an adult human, concentrating on the head to body length ratio. Measure and draw graphs. Sketch children and adults in proportion.
Teaching Outcomes:
- To become aware of the way the proportions of a human body changes as a baby grows and develops into an adult.
Children will:
- Describe how the proportions of a human body changes as growth occurs from baby to adult.
- Use this knowledge to draw child & adult human figures.
