Consider road safety in relation the the children's routes to school.
Children will:
- Locate their homes on simple map of the locality.
- Use simple compass directions.
- Think about road safety and learn the Green Cross Code.

Art and Design
- Use a range of materials creatively to design and make products.
- Use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination.
Geography
- Use simple compass directions and locational and directional language to describe the location of features and routes on a map.
- Devise a simple map; and use and construct basic symbols in a key.
Music
- Use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes.

- Singing game: This is the way we come to school
You Will Need
- Large street map of locality
- Small, self-adhesive, white labels
- fine felt tip pens
- Address of each child in class
- Wide paper for routes
- Small world play items including road layouts and vehicles
- Playdough
