- Sequence events in chronological order using language.
- Recognise and use language relating to dates, including days of the week, weeks, months, years.
- Interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and simple tables.
- Ask and answer simple questions by counting the number of objects in each category and sorting the categories by quantity.
- Ask and answer questions about totalling and comparing categorical data.

You Will Need
- Independent task with caption: How did you come to school today?
- Empty container for each possible mode of transport
- Place value abacus and counters OR maths link cubes
- Class list of names and pens
- Block graph for teacher demo on IWB or flip chart
- Graph paper and colouring pencils
