Objectives

Early learning goals

  • Express self effectively, showing awareness of listeners’ needs.

Lesson Planning

Who helps us outside school? Find out about local faith leaders – the Vicar, Imam, Rabbi, Guru, Priest.

Children will:

  • Identify and group together correctly artefacts and resources for different local faiths.
  • Share their own experiences (if any) of visiting/belonging to a faith group.
  • Listen attentively to visiting local faith leaders.

  • Selection of RE resources, to include artefacts representing faiths in the local area
  • Cloths to cover
  • Questions written as captions:

‘What is the person who works in the building called?’
‘Name the Holy Book’
‘What do you call the people who worship in that building?’
‘What day do people go there?’
