Lesson Planning

Children use paint, collage, printing to create a dinosaur and write dino expert facts to describe it. 

Children will:

  • Look at present day animal camouflage.
  • Find clues in photos of dinosaur bones and skeletons to work out possible habitats and habits.
  • Design, paint and collage imagined dinosaur picture.
  • Become the expert on this dinosaur and record dino expert facts as captions to create class display.

You Will Need

  • Dinosaur Dreams (Funnybones) by Allan Ahlberg
  • A1 or A3 art paper for each child
  • Selection of collage materials
  • Photos of animals depicting different camouflage features
