Lesson Planning

Compare the materials used to build homes in the Kumaon region with those used for your own house.

Teaching Outcomes:

  • To identify and compare the materials used for building homes in different regions of the world from photos of different homes, and from their own home.

Children will:

  • Look at typical Kumaoni homes and compare them to their own homes.
  • Consider materials available for building houses and begin to understand that some are better than others for homes in different regions.
