Geography

  • To locate Spain on a map and concentrate on its environmental regions, key physical and human characteristics, and major cities.
  • To understand geographical similarities and differences through the study of human and physical geography of a region in Spain.
  • To describe and understand key aspects of physical and human geography.
  • To use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied.

Design and Technology

  • To prepare and cook a savoury Spanish dish using a range of cooking techniques.
  • To understand seasonality, and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed.
  • To understand and apply the principles of a healthy and varied diet.

Lesson Planning

Join Stage 10 of La Vuelta from Valencia to Castellon and explore the local geography. Try your hand at cooking the famous local dish of paella.
