Lesson Planning

Research the lives and roles of King, Queens, High Priest, Priests, Nobles, craftspeople, Citizens, Peasants, Slaves; give a well-structured description of the person or group of people; give an explanation of what roles they could play in the role-playing game.

Teaching Outcomes:

  • To find out about what roles people had in Shang cities.
  • To present research to groups who will evaluate ideas.
  • To discuss ideas for different roles in the role-playing game.

Children will:

  • Retrieve information about people in the Shang Dynasty.
  • Make presentations of their research.
  • Take part in discussions leading to design decisions.
