Lesson Planning

The Premier and Super Leagues want you to explore their performance tracking spreadsheets. Understand why and how formulae are created, and manipulate the data to represent it graphically for each sporting league.

Teaching Outcomes:

  • To explore, analyse and manipulate sports data spreadsheets, suggesting why the information is useful and presenting it in different ways.
  • To use and create simple formulae for spreadsheets; manipulate a sports data spreadsheet to create graphic representations.

Children will:

  • Explore football data spreadsheets and suggest why the information is useful.
  • Learn how to create formulas for spreadsheets.
  • Manipulate a football spreadsheet to create simple graphic representations.
