History

  • Undertake an in-depth study of a non-European society that provides contrasts with British history - The Kingdom of Benin.

Lesson Planning

Do some research to find out about the contemporary developments in European and West African history and create a timeline to compare the two regions.

Teaching Outcomes:

  • Create a timeline comparing West Africa and Europe from AD 900-1300.

Children will:

  • Devise research questions about a historical topic.
  • Research the answer to historical questions they have devised.
  • Place events in chronological order on a timeline.
