Lesson Planning

Find out about the theatre culture of the Hellenistic period of Ancient Greece; research the role and characteristics of the amphitheatre; make and decorate a theatre mask in the style of Ancient Greek theatre.

Teaching Outcomes:

  • To research the theatre culture of Hellenistic period of Ancient Greece, including the typical plays performed in the theatres. Understand the role and characteristics of the Ancient Greek theatre.
  • To make a theatre mask out of ModRoc™.
  • To decorate the mask in the style of the Ancient Greek theatre mask.
