Lesson Planning

Children will bake two different types of bread, taste, compare and contrast them and decide which one should be produced for the end of topic exhibition. Children will also design and build a model structure to symbolize the importance of the Great Fire of London.

Teaching Outcomes
To understand the significance of the Great Fire of London by considering ‘The Monument’.
To bake two different types of bread.

Children will:

  • Make, eat and compare 2 different types of bread.
  • Design and construct a monument to symbolize the Great Fire of London.
  • Write caption to explain their model.
