Lesson Planning

Activity sessions in order to prepare for the celebrations: baking for ‘We Are Britain Bake Off’; planning questions for ‘Around We Are Britain Quiz’; compiling fun fact boxes for the displays; drawing maps of an imaginary, typical place in UK.

Teaching Outcomes
To consolidate their learning about the physical and human geography of the British Isles, chn compose a question for ‘Around We Are Britain’ Quiz and create a map.
To measure ingredients for baking; Bake and present traditional bread, cake, scones for ‘We Are Britain Bake Off’.

Children will:

  • Follow recipe instructions to bake traditional bread, cake, scones.
  • Measure ingredients for baking.
  • Reflect on their learning in order to compile a question for the Quiz and write Fun Fact Boxes.
  • Consolidate their learning by taking part in child-initiated activities.
