Objectives

SMSC

  • Develop tolerance & harmony between different cultural traditions by enabling students to acquire an appreciation of and respect for their own and other cultures.

Geography

  • Use simple compass directions (North, South, East, and West).
  • Use basic geographical vocab for key physical and human features
  • Write own address.

Lesson Planning

What do the different cultures represented in the class eat for breakfast? Write invitations to find out.

Teaching Outcomes
 To learn about food enjoyed for breakfast from around the world.
To locate global countries, giving directions from UK and to generate generalized statements about breakfast eating habits according to climate zone and farming practices.

Children will:

  • Develop tolerance, harmony and respect between different people groups.
  • Write an invitation to the breakfast club.
  • Write their own address.
  • Begin to learn about the 4 nations of the UK, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
