Teaching Outcomes
To use oil-based pastels.
To select appropriate colours for facial features and other details to enhance self-portrait.
To continue research of own family’s story.
To learn about own family’s story and cultural traditions and to begin to realise these may be different to those of other people.
To celebrate each person’s uniqueness.

Children will:

  • Observe themselves carefully, identifying their facial features to add to their self portrait.
  • Increase self-knowledge of their own family and their story, culture and traditions.
  • Celebrate the uniqueness of their family and those of their classmates.
