Locate China on a map; identify the extent of the Shang Dynasty on a map; label some major places and features.

Teaching Outcomes:

• To find out where China is and where the Shang Dynasty ruled.
• To label a modern map of China with the extent of the Shang Dynasty rule.

Children will:

• Explain where China is in the world.
• Decode some of the landscape features of China from mapping conventions.
• Transcribe historical boundaries and city locations from one map to another.
