Summarise the key events of early Islamic conquests and place on a timeline.

Teaching Outcomes:

• To gain historical perspective by placing knowledge into different contexts, understanding the connections between local, regional, national and international history.
• To understand more about the expansion of early Islamic Civilisation.

Children will:

• Read about and watch films recounting some of the early Islamic conquests.
• Summarise key events in writing, then place on a timeline alongside concurrent events from ‘civilisations’ that the chn have already studied, e.g. Anglo-Saxons, Vikings.
