Using drama, the children gain some empathy for the decisions faced by families of Anglo-Saxons and Britons, and the consequences of historical events.

Teaching Outcomes:

• To understand the priorities of invaders and settlers and the reasons for their decisions.
• To participate in role-play and consider and evaluate different viewpoints.

Children will:

• Understand how ordinary people’s lives have helped to shape Britain.
• Show awareness of cause and consequence of some historical events.
