Using our template, make a timeline of when the major tournaments were started, and some of the other major events in the history of tennis tournaments; make a class calendar to keep track of when major tournaments are played and mark the tournament locations on maps.

Teaching Outcomes:

• To create a timeline of tennis tournament history.
• To research the history of tennis tournaments for relevant information.
• To make a map of where major tennis tournaments take place.

Children will:

• Put dates into chronological order on a timeline.
• Retrieve factual information from non-fiction.
• Locate some cities and countries on a world map.
