Teaching Outcomes
To celebrate each person’s uniqueness and to respect other families' traditions and background stories.
To enthuse children about medieval history, knights; give simple explanation of Magna Carta.
To create shields which use appropriate symbols to capture something of their identity and family tradition.

Children will:

• Increase self-knowledge by reflecting on their interests & abilities and their family’s story, culture & traditions.
• Celebrate the uniqueness of each family represented in their class.
• Develop tolerance, harmony and respect between different people groups.
• Create their own shield.
• Begin to learn about the history of the UK and Magna Carta.
