Latest additions to our site!

Maths

New Maths Weekly Plans are gradually being added to the site - the Autumn Term plans will be online in plenty of time for the start of the new school year! They will be accessible by Friends of Hamilton and School Subscribers with two sample weeks in each year group available to registered users. To register click on Register on the Home Page. The Weekly Plans provide:

·             Planned progression of skills from Y1 to Y6

·             Continuity of models, images and vocabulary

·             Spiral curriculum with key skills revisited

These new Weekly Plans can be found under the Weekly Plans tab in the Maths section. The Teaching Sequences are still available free to all registered users and are now found under the Sequences tab.

Have a look at the Examples provided for each Teaching Sequence! Anita Straker, who was responsible for the National Numeracy Strategy (1999), has kindly provided a supplement of examples for each Hamilton Teaching Sequence. Like the NNS original on which it is based, this shows the progression round a particular element of teaching content – enabling a teacher to differentiate and also to understand, at a glance, the mathematical progression. These examples are also relevant to the weekly plans!

English and Maths Archive Plans

Looking for the old Weekly Plans for both English and maths? These are all still available and can be found by clicking on the Plan Archive Tab in the relevant Plans area. The archived maths plans are accessible by all Friends of Hamilton and School Subscribers.
