Percentages

KS3 Numeracy Year 7
This unit is part of Below ARE Building Numeracy

Objectives

Day 1

  • Understand percentage as ‘a number of parts per hundred’.

Day 2

  • Convert percentages to numbers of hundredths or tenths (as fractions and decimals) and vice versa.

Day 3

  • Use place value (division by 10 or 100), and multiplication, to find percentages of amounts,

e.g. 30% of £24 = (£24 ÷ 10) x 3

8% of 700kg = (700kg ÷ 100) x 8
