Objectives

Day 1

  • Divide numbers by 10 and 100 [answers no more than 2 decimal places].
  • Solve problems using division by 10 and 100.

Day 2

  • Explore fraction/ fraction equivalence and fraction/ decimal equivalence for: 1/4s, 1/10s, 1/5s and 1/100s.

Day 3

  • Revisit ‘short’ division - by 2, 4 and 5 - expressing remainders as fractions.

Lesson Planning

Day 1
Revise finding fractions of amounts.

Timed: 5mins. [PowerPoint Slide 2]

Each student will need their copy of the Skill Drill Record Sheet [see below, to be printed for any new students/ lost sheets].

Day 2
Practise dividing numbers by 10 and 100. [PowerPoint Slide 2] Timed: 5mins

Day 3
Practise recognising fraction/ fraction/ decimal equivalence. Students may refer to the number lines created in the previous session. Timed: 5mins [PowerPoint Slide 2]
