Objectives

Day 1

  • Show 2-place decimals on a place value (PV) grid;
  • Use a PV chart to create decimal PV additions and subtractions.

Day 2

  • Compare and order numbers with two decimal places;
  • Place numbers with two decimal places on a number line.

Day 3

  • Add and subtract 0.1 and 0.01 to/from 2-place decimals;
  • Write decimals as fractions and vice versa, e.g. 37/100 is 0.37 and 0.07 is 7/100.

Day 1
An initial 5-minute timed assessment to rehearse placing numbers to 1,000,000 on a number line [PowerPoint Slide 2]

Each student will need a copy of the Skill Drill Record Sheet [see below, to be printed] to record their score and ongoing personal bests.

Day 2
