Objectives

Day 1

  • Understand multiplication as repeated addition.
  • Recognise commutativity.

Day 2

  • Know and revise tables facts.
  • Derive factors of any 2-digit number to 12x12.

Day 3

  • Multiply numbers by 10 and 100.
  • Multiply 1-digit numbers by multiples of 10 and 100.

Lesson Planning

Day 1
Revise choosing when to use each strategy for subtraction. Timed: 5mins. [PowerPoint Slide 2]

Each student will need their copy of the Skill Drill Record Sheet [see below, to be printed for any new students/ lost sheets].

Practise recognising and describing repeated addition and commutativity. [PowerPoint Slide 2] Timed: 5mins

Rehearse tables facts to 12 x 12.
