Objectives

Day 1

  • Count up to find a difference between 2-digit numbers and multiples of 100.

Day 2

  • Subtract pairs of two-digit numbers by counting up to find the difference.

Day 3

  • Subtract pairs of two-digit numbers by counting back or counting up.
  • Choose when to use each strategy with simple calculations.

Lesson Planning

Day 1
Revision of adding pairs of multiples of 10 and 100. Timed: 5mins. [PowerPoint Slide 2]

Each student will need their copy of the Skill Drill Record Sheet [see below, to be printed for any new students/ lost sheets].

Day 2
Practise counting up to find a difference between 2-digit numbers and multiples of 100. [PowerPoint Slide 2] Timed: 5mins
