Books to Share

  1. Share Superhero ABC enjoying the humour. Discuss the new vocabulary, ‘crooks, felons, duels,’ etc. Pick a superhero. What powerful words can we use to describe them?
  2. Reread Superhero ABC. Pick a letter. Can children think of a superhero name which begins with that sound? What would this hero be like? What would they do? (I = Ice girl…).
  3. Share Supertato. How can we tell that Supertato is a superhero? What does he do? How does he help?
  4. Read a favourite superhero story or comic as suggested by the children. What do they like about this story?

Poetry/Rhyme of the Week: Five Superheroes
Introduce on Monday. Recite and act out, with 5 children being the superheroes. Rehearse and chant during week, waiting to go to lunch, to focus on carpet, for fun! Develop performance and add actions.
