Primary Literacy Resources

Welcome to the literacy planning area of our site! Here you will find Literacy Units based on the Primary Framework for Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Reception plus mixed age plans for Years 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6.

The Literacy Units are usually two or three week (occasionally one or four week) plans with accompanying resources (found by clicking on the Plans tab). The Term's Overview document lists the available Units in each term with a brief description of each plan. Each Unit also has an individual Overview showing which objectives are covered.

Some Literacy Units have been written to teach alongside particular Topics. They can be found alongside the relevant Theme in the Topic area. The Topic Theme Chart shows how they link in with the overall planning.

Also available in this area are Animated Texts (facts & fiction), Oral Texts, Spellings and Homework sheets. The Phonics tab takes you to Code-Breakers, our synthetic phonics programme.

Friends of Hamilton have access to all the materials for their chosen age range and School Subscription members have access to all the materials on our site. Some sample materials are available for registered users of Hamilton Trust to trial.
