More about Topics
What are these? Our Topics provide a means of engaging in creative topic-based teaching, whilst sustaining the rigour, progression and coverage in each NC subject area required by OFSTED and others. The first Hamilton Topics (KS1) were launched in July 2005 and we added to these over that summer. The first LKS2 Topic was added early in the November 2005 and in August 2006 the first UKS2 topic was launched. There are now 15 KS1, 13 LKS2 and 14 UKS2 Topics. We have many more topics planned and we are adding English Units to run alongside some of the Topics.
Flexibility and choice are the keys to truly creative teaching, and so we have used a data-based system, whereby teachers select individual sessions, addressing objectives from one or two subject areas, and - informed by the database - are then able to plan and teach a progression of topic-focussed activities in each subject. These Topics provide a wholly new and vastly timesaving means whereby creative teaching and a topic-focus go hand in hand with automatic National Curriculum-based record keeping and, IMPORTANTLY, still Saving yOur Sundays!
Payment - Due to lack of funds we are unable to provide this completely original and amazingly powerful resource free. However, a mere £24.00 donation per year secures unlimited access to cross-curricular Topics in your chosen age range, plus all the automatic record-keeping and the 'planning on-line' facilities. You also have access to all the English, Science and Maths plans to! Click on 'Become a Friend' on the Home Page to donate.
